Voicemail - Email - SMS with the
Splicecom Maximiser
|
 |
| |
|
|
At SpliceCom, we believe
that messaging – in its many disparate forms
- is an essential part of today’s business
communications. As such integral support for
voicemail, auto-attendant, email and SMS are
all provided as standard on the Spliceom Maximiser. |
 |
| |
|
Voicemail
|
| The SpliceCom Maximiser
provides integral voicemail on both the 5100 & 5108
Call Servers. Each 5100 supports 4-16 concurrent
calls and 1,500 hours of recording time, whilst the
5108 Call Server offers 2-8 concurrent calls and 500
hours of recording time. Need more than this? Just
run the maximiser voicemail application on a LAN
attached Linux PC or Server. Even today’s
entry-level PCs will provide support for around 30
concurrent calls, while a 40Gb hard disk will store
well over 1,000 hours of voicemail. |
| And because the
SpliceCom Maximiser is built around a distributed
architecture, you can run multiple voicemail
services, which can be centralised or spread across
multiple-sites. Email, SMS, Caller Display and
even paged alerts can all be used to notify
employees of new voicemail messages.
|
|
 |
| PCS 410,
PCS 100 and PCS 50 all provide visual management
capabilities for voicemail messages. An audio
voicemail navigation interface is provided for PCS
10, PCS 5 and existing analogue phones. |
| |
Email
|
| Voicemail messages, links or alerts
can be forwarded or copied to any SMTP compliant
email server, allowing a wide range of systems to be
supported – Microsoft Exchange, AppleMail, Lotus
Notes, Novell Groupwise, etc. |
|
 |
|
|
Unified Messaging
|
Unified Messaging allows SpliceCom Maximiser
voicemail messages to be stored on any email server
supporting the Internet Messaging Application
Protocol (IMAP). This includes Lotus Notes, Novell
GroupWise and Apple Mail, in addition to Microsoft
Exchange. Synchronisation is provided between
voicemail and email, so if a voicemail is deleted
the appropriate email will be deleted and vice
versa.
Unified Messaging utilises SpliceCom’s Enhanced
Speech Processing (ESP) technology allowing your
emails to be “read” back to you from any phone,
wherever you are. Once you’ve listened to your
email, you can speak your response, which will then
be emailed to the original sender as a .wav
attachment. Emails can also be deleted in same
manner. |
Auto Attendant
|
| A simple, single level, ten-entry
auto attendant is supplied as standard with the
Splicecom Maximiser. For those looking to deploy a
telephone system in a multi-tenancy or serviced
office environment, Maximiser allows a completely
different auto attendant to be configured for each
separate business. |
Interactive Voice Response (IVR)
|
| More complex, multi-level auto
attendant, dial by extension or IVR requirements are
addressed through the use of SpliceCom’s Enhanced
Speech Processing (ESP). This VoiceXML based
application can be added to maximiser on a
per-concurrent call/port basis and provides an
infinitely variable range of deployment options that
can be constructed when combining text-to-speech
conversion and/or the playback of pre-recorded audio
files with recognition of DTMF input, recording of
spoken input and telephony features such as call
transfer and disconnect. For example, Alarm, Wake-Up
or Reminder Calls can be set-up and generated in
this manner. |
SMS
|
| Text
messaging is becoming increasingly used by
businesses to contact employees and customers alike.
As well as using SMS to alert employees to new
voicemail messages, maximiser provides integral
support for SMS text messaging via the PCS 410 IP
Phone and the PCS 50 IP Softphone/Phone Partner
application. SMS dial options for Contact, User &
Department directory entries activate a text entry
page, allowing messages to be drafted and sent. |
| The format of SpliceCom
Maximiser
generated text messages allows any reply to be
automatically routed to the appropriate User’s
maximiser mailbox where it is clearly identified by
a unique SMS icon. Double clicking on the entry
allows the message to be read. Use of this service
requires an agreement with an SMS provider, eg World
Text or SMS Alert.
SpliceCom Maximiser also uses SMS as the underlying
mechanism to allow text messages to be sent directly
between employees using PCS 410s and PCS 50s. These
messages are routed internally without the need to
access the GSM network. |
 |
Fax
|
Maximiser’s modular
architecture allows fax traffic to dynamically share
the ISDN trunk lines with regular voice calls.
Conventional fax machines can be connected to the
Phone Modules, whilst fax servers supporting fax to
the desktop can be connected via modems connected to
the Phone Module, or Basic Rate ISDN connected to an
ISDN S-Bus on the Call Server, Remote Call Server or
Trunk Modules. Multiple channel operation is also
supported.
SpliceCom recommend the use of GFI FAXmaker for
Exchange/SMTP. |
