Splicecom Maximiser - Apple Mac Support
|
 |
| SpliceCom’s PCS 50 for
OS X is a truly unique application, which enables
the delivery of advanced business telephony to the
Apple Mac community for the very first time.
Identical in operation and functionality to
SpliceCom’s PCS 50 application for the Windows
operating system, the Apple variant can be utilised
on any iMac, PowerBook or iBook running OS X. |
 |
| |
|
 |
IP Softphone - Bluetooth or USB Headset/Handset
|
| PCS 50 for OS X
delivers ALL of the features and functions
associated with SpliceCom’s top of the range PCS 410
telephone, colour, touch-screen phone and can be run
in two different modes. As an IP Softphone, it makes
use of the Mac’s integrated support of Bluetooth
headsets to make and receive telephone phone calls,
with the Apple computer handling all the phone call
processing requirements. Alternatively, traditional
IP Softphone devices like USB handsets or headsets
can also be utilised. |
| |
| |
Analogue Phone Partner
|
 |
|
As a Phone Partner PCS 50 can be
used in conjunction with SpliceCom’s PCS 10 or PCS 5
System Phones or even an existing analogue phone. In
this role the telephone can be used to make and
receive calls, totally independent of the Apple Mac,
as normal. However, access to Caller Display with
alpha tagging, System Directories (External
Contacts, Users & Departments), Busy Lamp
Field/Direct Station Select, Message Mailboxes, Call
Conferencing, Call Recording and Key System
Emulation features, etc. are all controlled via the
PCS 50 for OS X application. |
| |
|
 |
Working with Web Enabled Applications
|
| In
addition, PCS 50 for OS X provides the ability to
converge SpliceCom’s maximiser business telephone
system with the Internet, Company Intranet or any
web-enabled application. Any page in standard HTML/PHP
format can be “pushed” to the Apple Mac screen based
on a wide range of criteria – incoming CLI, Called
Number, time of day/day of week, or an external
trigger or event – to everyone, whole Departments or
individual Users. This provides next-generation CTI
across multiple applications simultaneously, totally
independent of platform, operating system or
location. |
| |
|
Traditional CTI through AppleScript
|
 |
PCS 50 for Mac OS X also supports conventional CTI
through the use of AppleScript. This allows
automatic dialling of telephone numbers from the OS
X Address Book, applications like the ever-popular
FileMaker Pro – or any other application that
supports AppleScript. Linking to the relevant
records within 3rd party applications for incoming
calls is also handled in the same manner.

Operators Console
|
| SpliceCom’s PCS
Operators Console has been specifically designed to
elevate business productivity and enhance the
overall company image at the main point of customer
contact by delivering an improved operator service.

together within a single window and expanding its
capability, SpliceCom’s PCS Operators Console has
been specifically developed to partner PCS 410, PCS
100, PCS 10, PCS 5 or existing analogue phones. The
PCS Operators Console runs under Apple Mac OS X (a
Windows version is also available) and can be
alternatively used with a USB or Bluetooth,
handset/headset as an IP Softphone. For more
information visit the Operators & Receptionists page
or download the PCS Operators Console Datasheet. |
Call Management
|
| SpliceLog Pro is a web-enabled Call
Logging/Management application, specifically
developed for Maximiser. Although hosted on a
Microsoft Windows platform, information is viewed
and reports are run through any standard web-browser
- including Safari, Mozilla Firefox, MS Internet
Explorer for Mac and SpliceCom’s PCS 410 or PCS 50.
Simple to set-up, SpliceLog Pro allows every phone
call to be logged, checked, costed and stored
automatically. For more details visit the Call
Management page or download the SpliceLog Pro
datasheet. |
|
 |
| |
|
Call Recording
|
|
| SpliceCom provide
integrated Call Recording as standard on Maximiser.
SpliceLog Pro allows these recordings to be
exported, searched/managed and played-back. Details
of the Call Recording – including the ability to
“click & play” - are included with the full call
logging record of each call. All that’s needed is
the appropriate number of per channel recording
licenses to be added to SpliceLog Pro. For more

the SpliceLog Pro datasheet. |

Call Centres
|
| SpliceCom Maximiser call server
provides many advanced Call Centre features “under
the skin.” Automatic Call Distribution (ACD), Skills
Based Capabilities, Call Queuing with entry/update
messages and definable limits, Call Recording, Call
Routing on CLI, multiple Music-on-Hold zones, Agent
Log In/Out and Supervisor Monitoring & Intrude are
all supported as standard. Adding visibility of
real-time queue information through a Mac OS X
Desktop Client turns maximiser Departments into
Informal Call Centres – ideal for Service, Support
and Help Desks, etc. |
| The SpliceQueue Desktop Client for
Mac OS X (a Windows version is also available)
provides accurate, up-to-date information on how
many calls are currently holding, wait time for
those calls held in queues – and who they are - real
time “agent” status and their response times. A
Desktop Client can be configured to present this
information for a single Department – or all
Departments. SpliceQueue can also provide a visual
warning when certain pre-defined queue parameters
are exceeded, for example, if a queued call were to
exceed your target wait time. For more details visit
the Call Centre page or download the SpliceQueue
datasheet. |

A Totally "Open" Telephone System For Business
|
| Maximiser has been developed to be
the most “Open” business telephone system available
today. It can be completely configured from any
standard Web Browser – including Apple’s Safari,
Mozilla and Microsoft’s Internet Explorer for Mac –
whilst voicemail can be forwarded as an attachment
to any SMTP compliant email system – including Apple
Mail. PCS 50 and PCS Operators Console for OS X
extend this Open System support for the Apple Mac
community, whilst the range of “SpliceApps” provide
true value in the areas of Call Management, Call
Recording & Call Centres. This approach is directly
in-line with SpliceCom’ strategy of providing
Maximiser’s advanced call server benefits to all
users in a consistent and identical manner, totally
independent of LAN infrastructure, telephone type,
computer platform, service delivery, location or
company size. |
