HiPath iSDX Micro System Cards
|
|
The cards
used in the exchanges contain electrostatic
sensitive devices (ESDs). |
ESDs can be
damaged if they are subjected to a discharge
of static electricity.
To protect the ESDs from being damaged when
you handle the cards, you must always take
the precautions detailed in the appropriate
guidelines (for example European standard EN
100015). |
 |
The following points are a summary of
the guidelines for handling cards: |
- Wear
a conductive wrist strap that is in good
contact with your skin and connected to
a good earth. An ESP bonding point is
provided on each side of each shelf that
may be used to connect a suitable
conductive wrist-strap.
- When
power is applied to the exchange, always
use the powered umbilical ribbon cable
when connecting and disconnecting a card
from the backplanes.
-
Always use the special extractor tool to
disconnect a control or telephony card
from the backplanes.
- Do
not let any part of the card touch any
surface (e.g. plastic, polystyrene or
paper objects) that could discharge
static electricity.
-
Always store spare cards in their
protective, anti-static bags.
