This Inter-Tel CS5000 Range has now been rebranded as the Mitel 5000 and has a new release of software.

Offering advanced multimedia call server capabilities and substantial cost savings for businesses with up to 250 users, Mitel 5000 Network Communications Solutions are based on open architecture interfaces and standard protocols, giving you the flexibility to tailor a system to suit your dynamic needs.

Mitel 5000 Call Server

Choose from a variety of Mitel call server applications for simplifying individual communications, accelerating information flow throughout your organization and automating common processes to reduce costs and improve productivity, with powerful, easy-to-use tools for managing voice, e-mail and faxes across all devices.

This release introduces the Mitel® NuPoint Messenger, another external voice messaging system. The NuPoint Messenger uses Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) to communicate with the Mitel 5000.

Call Server Product Key Features:
  • Scheduled Backups. Using the Session Manager you can now schedule database backups to be performed at the frequency and times you specify. This system database and (optionally) voice processor data is saved to a local computer and can be used for future data recovery.
  • BVM System Recording Audio Enhancement.This audio enhancement for system recordings applies to CS-5200 and CS-5400 Base Server (BS) BVM systems only. Prior to v3.0, system recordings for BVM used the G.729A codec. For v3.0, you can now choose between the default G.729A codec and the G.726-32 codec. G.726-32kbps recordings offer higher voice quality. However, they require four times the space on the compact flash-type memory card to store the same recording lengths.
  • Increased Employee Efficiency: mitelss powerful, easy-to-use interfaces and centralized directories put users in control of their call servers and devices.
  • NuPoint Messenger External Voice Mail System.
  • Faster Information Flow: Inter-Tel's presence awareness and intelligent call server routing applications provide quicker and more reliable connections.
  • Caller ID Forwarding. Caller ID forwarding allows Call Processing (CP) to send Caller ID information from any incoming services to the public or private network using Primary Rate Interface (PRI) or Basic Rate Interface (BRI) Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) circuits.
  • ISDN PRI Two B-Channel Transfer. The ISDN PRI Two B-Channel Transfer (TBCT) feature is an ISDN optimization supplementary service offered by the PSTN. You must purchase support for the TBCT from the CO. The TBCT feature optimizes trunk-to-trunk calls by releasing them from the PBX and connecting them through the Central Office (CO). This optimization removes the trunk-to-trunk call legs from the system and allows the system to reuse the 2 B-channels for new calls.
  • Anytime, Anywhere Connectivity: Wireless support enables instant voice and data connections from anywhere.
  • Basic Voice Mail (BVM) and Enterprise Messaging (EM) Option Swap: 7 and 9 Keys.
  • Lower Total Costs: Network-based voice communications and Inter-Tel's Data Transport Services help to reduce monthly costs.
  • Flexible and Cost-Effective Growth: Expands to support up to 250 users and multiple sites. Functionality can be added with Inter-Tel and third-party applications and devices.
  • BVM and EM Voice Profile for Internet Mail (VPIM) Networking. BVM and EM can communicate with other voice processing systems using VPIM. This feature requires a v3.0 system and when using EM, it requires EM v2.1 or later.
  • File-Based Music-On-Hold (MOH). The File-Based MOH feature expands the existing MOH source beyond the built-in audio port located on the back of the Mitel 5000 chassis. You can now use the compact flash-type memory card to store up to five audio files to use for MOH. There is also a new MOH Converter utility that is installed with DB Programming. This utility is necessary to convert your audio files to the format required by the Mitel 5000.
  • BVM Play-Only Mailbox. The Play-Only Mailbox new feature applies to BVM only. The BVM “play-only” mailbox option prevents the caller from leaving a message. The “play-only” mailbox is similar to an "announcement-only" application where it plays the designated greeting once and then the call automatically disconnects after the greeting finishes playing.
  • Caller ID Enhancements. Some COs are now requiring that calls have Caller ID set. Caller ID functionality is enhanced for this release to meet the CO requirement. This release adds the “Calling Party Number” and “Calling Party Name” fields to the Endpoints, Applications, and CO Trunk Group settings in DB Programming.
  • External USB Modem. The Axxess/5000 Modem Kit (part number 550.3026) has been updated to include a new Universal Serial Bus (USB) to Asynchronous (ASYNC) cable (part number 813.1873) that allows you to attach an external modem to the Mitel 5000 system. After all connections are established, you can configure, manage, or debug the system through this modem connection.
